After a disappointing season in the Premier League, English first division football club Everton has parted company with team manager Sam Allardyce.
“In a difficult time, Sam has provided stability, for which we are grateful to him,” the club wrote in a statement on Wednesday.
Due to his playing style Allardyce was criticized by the fans. The 63-year-old Englishman took over the team at the end of November, leading the Toffees from 13th place to eighth. However, a starting place for the European League qualification was missed.
